Mission
In September 2026, Les Lundis d’Hortense will celebrate their 50th anniversary. A collective celebration taking the form of a week of unique concerts in 5 iconic venues across Brussels.
Challenges
This anniversary was an opportunity to celebrate a milestone number and the start of a new decade, but it was above all a pretext to highlight the work carried out by the association over the past half-century.
Furthermore, Les Lundis d’Hortense is dedicated to promoting Belgian jazz in all its forms. It was therefore essential that the visual identity could represent jazz in all its diversity, without falling into potential visual stereotypes.
Solution
We aimed to bridge the past and the present, incorporating references to previous work within our graphic approach. To this end, we delved into the association’s graphic archives and unearthed a series of illustrations by Jean-Claude Salemi, originally created for past promotional posters.
We then blended these illustrations with the association’s modern and understated graphic universe. This allowed us to propose a unique visual identity that merges past and present, perfectly aligning with the message this event aims to convey.
