Mission
Les Ateliers des Tanneurs is a business centre and incubator based in The Marolles, in the heart of Brussels, which has been operating since 2005. They contacted us for help in identifying a strong creative concept for their 20th anniversary, creating the visual identity of the event and support them in PR activities.
Challenges
If you have ever organised someone else’s birthday party, you will understand how difficult it is to come up with a concept that reflects the person being celebrated and meets its expectations. Unless you know the person well, it’s an impossible mission.
So we spent time with Les Ateliers des Tanneurs to get to know them well.
We discussed their mission, values and history. We asked them how they saw themselves and their relationship with their tenants.
It appeared that Les Ateliers des Tanneurs see themselves as humble facilitators, giving credit for Brussels’ socio-economic success to the project owners and entrepreneurs.
Solution
It soon became clear that the 20th anniversary would be a collective celebration. It was an opportunity to spend quality time with everyone who has been involved in the project over the years.
We encapsulated this idea as a collective claim.

To design this, we needed someone who could create a design by hand. Someone who’s up for a bit of paint and linocut fun, to create shapes that bring to life the unique building where Les Tanneurs is based. someone that could come up with a font combination that encapsulates this powerful event tagline, ‘Notre anniversaire c’est le vôtre’. Bref, we needed Louise.
Then Solange took over and coordinated the production of a series of interviews that presented the tenants.
